Popular Laminated Flooring

There's no lack of variety when it comes to laminated floor tiles and planks, and manufacturers are constantly adding to the selection of textures, colors, and styles. There are different installation formats, such as floating, glue down, and click lock. Armstrong and Pergo are now household names, primarily off laminate flooring, and there are lots of other manufacturers looking to follow suit by offering high quality flooring in finishes and styles that will surprise even the pickiest customers. This market is still very young, so that bargain flooring manufacturer that's on the bottom shelves today may be the top shelf premium tomorrow. This is one situation where being a picky bargain hunter can really work out for you since the cheapest new guy on the bottom shelf today could be the premium top shelf manufacturer next month.

The Recent Laminate Floors

Believe it or not, laminate floor was only introduced in the US market about a decade ago, yet it has already become one of the fastest selling floor types in the US today. Ease of installation, low prices, and ability to withstand punishment are some of the most likely reasons for laminate flooring's popularity. Billions of square feet of laminate floor have been sold to homeowners throughout the country, and far more worldwide, being placed in many new homes in many new subdivisions as well as used to replacement in older homes to give them a much more modern look. Laminated floors can even be installed in the same home as real wooden floors without conflicting, and it's often easier to match colors of laminate to older wood than it is to match wood to wood.
