Laminate floors can become confusing when you're trying to choose how you want to lay it out. There are AC Ratings, and different tongue and groove systems that make things even more complicated. These are the types of terms that people who like to do it themselves hate to see because they're specific only to laminated flooring. Unfortunately, this is how many different markets operate, and it seems that as time goes on, more and more terms are created to describe the exact same thing, only in another format. With something as new as laminate floors, you're likely to find many hardware store employees that are just as clueless as you are, and As this type of floor is still constantly reinventing itself, it's only going to get more confusing as time goes on as well.
